Something is rotten in the state of Ostermark.

The Empire of man is burning. For 300 years, its provinces have been locked in a perpetual state of civil war, with warlords, princelings and pretend emperors squabbling over the imperial throne.

On the final eve of the 19th century the civil war found a new battleground, as a great twin-tailed comet struck the Ostermark capitol of Mordheim, and ushered in a new era of madness and bloodshed.

Now, you and your rivals must command warbands of rugged warriors, zealots, mutants and ratmen, as they are sent into the cursed city to hunt for the coveted magical substance known as Wyrdstone.

Wyrd-what?

Wyrdcry is a fan-made hack of Warcry, dragged through the misery and madness of Mordheim. It offers fast-paced and cinematic skirmish battles, with the granular list-building and customisability you've come to expect from classic Warhammer games. Your fighters will suffer injuries and die horrible deaths, upgrade their equipment and earn experience - and with a little luck, earn enough renown to become legendary heroes in their own right.

Who is it for?

If you're a Warcry player with a suspiciously large collection of ruined buildings, or a Mordheim fan who wants the battles to be more exciting than the the exploration phase - this game is for you.

How do I get started?

• Download the books! They're free!
• The Rulebook contain all the rules needed to play a battle of Wyrdcry.
• The Campaign Book guides you when starting a warband and running it through a campaign with your local Mordheim group.
• This initial playtest contain faction entries for the skulking assassins of Clan Eshin and the proud imperial Mercenaries, with more on the way.
• Build your first warband with our editable warband roster

What happens next?

This playtest is the first public version of Wyrdcry. I'm finally starting to see the green light at the end of the tunnel and are excited for you to join us for the last stretch, as we wrap up the final 4 warbands and launch the 1.0 edition of the game.
